    About God:

How do you describe the indescribable? If all the seas turned ink, all the plant to writing tools, and all the sky to parchment, it would not be enough to describe God's vastness. That's the God I serve.

If you're interested in learning more about God, you can leave a message here, you could go to this site and leave a message or you can read on.

  • God loves you (John 3:16).
  • God is holy and just. He punishes all evil and expels it from his presence (Romans 1:18).

  • God, who created everything, made us for himself to find our purpose in fellowship with him (Colossians 1:16).
  • But we rebelled and turned away from God (Isaiah 53:6) The result is separation from God (Isaiah 59:2). The penalty is eternal death (Romans 6:23).

  • God became human in the person of Jesus Christ to restore the broken fellowship (Colossians 1:19-20). Christ lived a perfect life (1 Peter 2:22).
  • Christ died as a substitute for us by paying the death penalty for our rebellion (Romans 5:8). He arose (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) and is alive today to give us a new life of fellowship with God, now and forever (John 10:10).

  • I must repent for my rebellion (Matthew 4:17).
  • I must believe Christ died to provide forgiveness and a new life of fellowship with God (John 1:12)
  • I must receive Christ as my Savior and Lord with the intent to obey him. I do this in prayer by inviting him into my life (Revelation 3:20).
  • There is no cost to your salvation comes to you freely (Ephesians 2:8-9).
  • But it comes at a high cost to God (1 Peter 1:18-19).
  • Ultimately your response is a life of discipleship (Luke 9:23-24).

    Love and trust

Love and trust are interesting concepts. Love is deep devotion, while trust is a confident reliance on the integrity, honesty, or justice of another.
God loves everyone fully and perfectly, while we struggle with loving our neighbors enough to talk to them. Love ( in God's point of view ) cannot be earned, he loves everyone so much that he could not possibly love them more. Most of us only love another if we know we can trust them with our love.
That brings us to trust. Trust is something that must be earned. Just because you are loved beyond comprehension, it doesn't mean you're trustworthy. Take the example of a dog that runs keeps running away. You would still love the dog the same, but you'd tie it up more often. You should allow the dog to redeem itself, but it is up to the dog whether it wants to be trustworthy.
I won't spectate on how God trusts people, he knows infinately more than I do. I only know that he loves you beyond comprehension and wants you to be a trustworthy person.

    The 'grey' area

We put way too many 'grey' areas in our religion. Grey area meaning thinking something like this: 'Well this movie only has three swear words!' Let me tell you a story...

There once was a father that had two sons. These two sons wanted to watch a pg-13 movie. They said, "Everyone is watching it! It only has one swear word."
In response, the father inocently offered them each a cookie. When they asked what was in it, he said, "They are chocolate chip cookies, with a tiny amount of dog poop!"
Of course, the two sons would not eat the cookies. When the father asked why, they said, "We won't eat dog poop! That is gross!"
The father said, "But it is just a tiny amount!"
"What if we get posioned and die from it?" asked on of the sons.

A little bit of swearing, violence, nudity, etc, really does effect us! More than most people like to admit. If you doubt that you should watch something, don't!  If it is grey, it is not okay. God is a very black and white God. Either something is right, or it is not.

    Who's to know?

How can you say that every thought that you have is not from God? This post might/might not be my idea at all, but an idea that God gave me. When you think about this really deeply, you get really confused ( because who is to say that the confusion is yours or that the idea that the confusion is yours is yours. You see what I mean )
I could say a lot about this topic, but I'd rather you think about it and meditate on it!

I usually try to aim toward professionalism on my posts, but I realized that in order for readers to understand me better and vice versa, I needed a few personal stories. I couldn't think of anything... until today.
Maybe disgust isn't the right word... as it was beyond, yet I almost sat down and cried when I heard it. I usually try to stay away from the 'evil' things that I here at school, because I'm sure some of you have stories that would give anyone nightmares. But... this is a major problem at any school... I'm sure. So, I'll share my story.

I was sitting at lunch and with nothing else to do, I listened to what other people were saying. Someone next to me asked his friend to go steal two bread sticks for him. At first, I thought he was just kidding. I watched this kid's 'friend' go up to where the lunch was, take two bread sticks and get in line to buy it.

He kept glancing around, and when no one was watching, he tried to make his getaway. Luckily, someone from the cafeteria staff saw, and made him pay. That kid could have had two years in jail or a $50,000 fine from that.

Then, the someone else started talking about his girlfriend. He said, "Ya, I remember how we first got together! I was at a party with my friends, and she put something in my drink so I would fall asleep. When I woke up, she was all over me." Then later said, "I asked her later if she made sure to put a condom on me, she said she did. So, it was all right."
This person got raped and could care less! Not only that, he likes the girl because she had the 'guts' to do something like that.

God demands sexual purity. You should save yourself for marriage. This doesn't mean that the point in marriage is do such things. Having children is a gift from God, he wants us to populate the Earth.
He wants us to have the bond between man and wife. I hope that if/when I choose a wife, she will be sexually pure, and that she would want me to be as well.

Where do the ideas our culture has come from? The instant ability to access anything on the net? Movies or shows? Is everyone around them doing it?

The feeling I had while hearing that 'story' is indescribable. It was somewhere between shock/horror/grief. What about you? Are you living the way God would want you to? Or do you know that the way you are living will only lead to destruction?

    Meditation #2

"Lack of availability is the only limitation preventing your effectiveness in what God wants you to do."

Excuses... we have all used them, you know what they are! When it comes to having excuses for not serving the Lord, Moses had some of the best ( And most commonly used ), but God worked in Moses' life to make him a great leader.

What Moses said  What God said  Verse
I'm just an average person  I will be with you  Exodus 3:11&12
I have no authority  You have the authority if God gives it to you  Exodus 2:11&14
No one will believe me  ( miracles and plagues. The greatest miracle is a changed life )  Exodus 4:1
Natural limitations  I will be your mouth. Natural limitations reveal God's power in a greater way  Exodus 4:10-12
I am unavailable  The greatest training in the world will not be effective if you are 'unavailable'  Exodus 4:13

    Just for Starters...

Hello all! I am, and shall continue to be, the infamous Cow. For some reason, I've been allowed to help post on this blog, and in particular to try to represent and explain Catholicism. I've technically been a Catholic my whole life, although I didn't really understand my faith until a mere two or three years ago. Since then, I've spent loads of time discovering more about the Catholic Church, and hopefully I can cover my bases enough to give explanations of what we do, and why we do it.

First off, I want to say that the focus point of being Catholic is to worship, honor, and bring glory to God, above all else. We do NOT worship ANYTHING besides Him, especially not saints, Mary, or the Pope. The only reason we like them is because they help lead us to Christ.

Our fellow blogger, xxpinknblackxx, has already started getting into the Pope. I though that rather than try and explain everything there is to know about the Pope, it might be smarter to try and see what people want to know.

Do any of you readers, even you guys who don't look at this regularly but just found it blog-hopping, have any questions in particular about the Pope, or his position in the Church?

What is make-up? I know you're all probably laughing at me thinking that I don't know what it means, but really, what does it mean? The most likely version of make they use here is to bring to some state. Up probably means toward that which is higher, what is better. Basically, make-up means a better state.

How can we improve on what God made? We are not perfect, but we are what he wants us to be. We are his children, he loves us no matter what we look like.

Beauty is an interesting word. It is something that is relative from person to person. The person that you marry ( if she is wearing make-up ) is not that person at all. You are marrying what that person considers a better version of themselves. It should shame the husband that the wife does this to herself.

Doesn't make-up create an evil among us? Women are living behind a mask. They are lying about what they really are. They do it to be more 'attractive', but if you want someone to love you, you need someone to love you for what you are, not for what you look like.

Am I far off in this matter? Am I completely missing the point of make-up? Please leave a comment and tell me wether you agree with me. Thank you.
